
Consider some Fun Ways to Exercise.
Do you find yourself planing some excuse to avoid going to the gym without feeling guilty? Let’s be honest it’s normally the least favorite thing to do after working all day. You may feel bad about it, but it’s really quite natural. The stinky gym is just full of other people anyway, so what’s so good about it?
Begin a good program today in the peace of your own home.
Just looking at so many beautiful bodies who look so good in their tights it just makes you want to run to the nearest junk food outlet for a donut.
Is this you? Maybe it’s time to refocus and consider giving the gym a miss for awhile in favor of an exercise that you will enjoy. If you think imaginatively you will find that your body will follow along quite naturally and that’s the key. The exercises that are the greatest are the ones you are unaware of doing. You will stay with exercises that you enjoy doing, now they may not be as calorie burning as say walking on a treadmill at the gym, but you won’t quit after a couple of months meaning you’ll win.
Here are four fun ways to exercise to get you started.
We’ll start with Martial Arts.
If you believe martial arts is like in the movies with lots of loud shouting and fighting then think again. The reality is very different. There are many different people who practice martial arts from all ages and with a huge difference in body types and backgrounds.
One of the neat things about martial arts is that you can choose from a lot of different options and pick the best one that suits you. Three of the many different styles that you can pick are Karate, Kickboxing and Judo. Probably you will have heard of all of them. Judo is more about throwing and wrestling whereas the other two focus on kicks and punches, let me add here that kickboxing is the most physical.
Now for the second one. - Yoga.
Yoga for losing weight? Yes that’s correct. Although it doesn’t burn up the calories like more substantial exercising, it does encourage a body awareness that translates to increased weight loss in everyday life. The variety of people from small to big, healthy to out of shape and from young to old can be found in a Yoga class. There are many different people found in the discipline of yoga. An alternative to Yoga is Tai Chi. Like yoga, Tai Chi is for all ages, it’s for different shapes and all benefit from this style of exercise.
We’re up to number three and we have Dancing.
There’s a bigger difference in fitness between professional ballet dancers and professional swimmers - the ballet dancers are fitter. Dancing is a fantastic workout because it is good for both endurance and strength. Also it’s an exercise that’s entertaining as well as being motivational. If you’re a bit nervous about going to a class then take a friend with you to help you get started. For weight loss the faster dances example jazz, hip-hop or latin are going to be the best. Instead of a dancing class especially if that doesn’t excite you, then try cranking up the stereo with your best cd Another option is to take your i-pod and go into an unoccupied room where you can dance on your own.
Last Table Tennis.
What’s not to like about table tennis? The small bats, the ping-pong balls and the ‘pock-whoosh-pock’ of a great rally - it’s delightful. Did you know that it burns as many calories as a brisk walk? It’s also simple to play even for novices. Now wouldn’t you prefer to play an epic game of table tennis with a friend than do 30 minutes on the stepper at the gym? Of course the loser makes dinner! If you cant find a table to play on - they’re not expensive to buy and will no doubt see much more use than the latest piece of gym equipment from the Shopping channel on TV.
