It certainly didn’t take long for the news about acai’s benefits to spread all the way from Oprah’s studios in Chicago to the rest of the world.
And thanks to Oprah, and Dr. Perricone along with other big-name doctors, researchers and average people who just care about their health, there has been a pretty dramatic rise in demand for this Amazonian superfood here in the U.S. The question “Where Can I Buy Acai?” has been, shall we say, increasing in popularity.
As you would expect, because of the rapid rise in popularity of this little berry, finding good sources for quality acai has gotten increasingly difficult. We see this frequently with products other than resveratrol when something appears on the scene suddenly.
It’s no surprise that as people everywhere start clamoring for more acai than ever before, trusted suppliers can’t match that new demand — so of course we wind up with lots of pretenders and unethical suppliers who are willing to put inferior products on the market to meet the growing demand.
Of course this doesn’t mean finding a good source for quality acai is all but impossible. Far from it.
In fact, if you hang with me for just a second, I’m going to show you my favorite resources for getting your hands on some quality acai — but even better, you’ll learn a couple little tricks for getting it free.
So definitely hang in there for that. It’s worth it.
But first, why don’t we just discuss a few choices you have to help you determine for yourself which one might be best for what you want.
My Personal Experiences Buying Acai
So, now let’s get to the question that’s on your mind — where can I buy acai?
Naturally, I wouldn’t think of writing about buying acai if I hadn’t tried to do it myself, so let’s go through a quick overview of the different things I tried, and why now looking back I realize I should have just gone with the method I’m going to share in a second.
The first thing I looked into was acai pulp that I could buy frozen. I’m a huge smoothie fan, so I figured it wouldn’t be all that big a deal to just start adding some of the acai to the power drinks I was already making.
Where I typically shop — a local Whole Foods — they’re pretty reliable at stocking most items people are looking for. So of course I was definitely excited when I stumbled on some frozen acai pulp nestled there among the frozen broccoli and green beans.
But when I saw that they wanted more than $5 just for a few baggies of pulp, I wasn’t all that excited anymore. Which meant these things were going to become some pretty expensive frozen drinks.
Okay so I did go ahead and look at other choices. This time I tried those bulk dried acai powders that you see all over the place. Again, the price of this stuff was shocking.
They wanted 30 bucks (and that was a SALE price) for an embarrassingly small container of this powder. And naturally it wouldn’t be any good unless I found something to mix it with. It’s not as though you would find many people who want to sprinkle this stuff on their morning corn flakes.
Unfortunately, both of these methods had significant downsides either because of price or because of convenience. Think about it — how many people are going to go through the hassle of bringing frozen Smoothie Packs into work a couple times a week (and then getting a blender just for the office so you can use them), and then to top everything off to bug the guy in the next cubicle by grinding up some smoothies around lunch time.
That’s just not something that was going to happen.
I preferred the powder because at least I didn’t need to keep it in the freezer, but I still would have had to mix it with something and the price wasn’t anything to get excited about.
I was looking for convenience. Something I could take with me anywhere, and that would make it easy for me to take every day.
And as far as I was concerned, I found the ideal solution. So let’s cover that right now.
What I now realize I should have done all along — and this would have save me a lot of time and money — was to just go with a quality acai supplement. And if I could find one that combined acai with other complementary ingredients, that would be even better.
What I should have done right from the beginning, and what I’d suggest you do now. Go to this Where Can I Buy Acai review page, which has constantly updated reviews and videos that will show you exactly where to get quality acai that’s both convenient and cost-effective.
In fact, if you head over there now you’ll find some directions for how to claim a full bottle of a great acai supplement for free.
I hope this has been helpful. And good luck!
